So while reading some of the blogs I follow in Reader. I was looking at the Dailypost challenge. I had seen the challenges before but never really pay them much mind. Well I accidentally followed some links that lead to today’s challenge word of Curve. Well here is a story for you…
My brother is graduating this year from college. He is a math major with a 3.99 GPA (missed by one class). This, of course, makes my sister the smartest kid since she graduated with a 4.00+ because of all the extra credit she did—in Biology. I, the dunce of the family, graduated with 3.5 GPA in Business. Well I knew my brother was very nervous on these last two finals he took. When he got the grade back from the first one and knew he got an A in that class, he really started to stress on the last final. It was in theoretical math. My mom says it looks like numbers and the sneeze from a typewriter. I can’t even imagine what it really is. My brother keeps taking about different dimensions and infinity. I think he is talking about movies. Just goes to show what I know. Well he knew he needed at least a 90 on the final to get an A. Last test he got a 100. So it’s not a huge stretch of the imagination to think he could pull it off.
After the test he felt that he wasn’t completely prepared for the test and didn’t do well. He said that it didn’t matter because he lost his 4.0 last semester. I think he was just playing tough but that’s what a Business major would say. However, he plucked up the courage to call his professor and ask for his grade. This is something I would never do. I would just drink until the grade came out and then drink in celebration or remorse. Either way I didn’t care after a while. Now thinking about it that’s probably why I have a 3.5 GPA.
Well my brother’s professor said that he scored a 75! I know the feeling of your stomach dropping and the nausea that comes with bad news. This however, was not the only news. The professor said that his was the highest. I think the professor was very proud he could come up with such a hard test. But I digress. Well since everyone bombed the test he gave an extra 3 or so points for the last question and then curved the test (see you didn’t think I could bring curve into this story.) So my brother got an 90.5 on the test and will graduate with a 3.99 overall average.
We are very proud of him. He did work very hard to be infinity times smarter then the rest of us. Though I doubt he could run a business like I could or count sea turtles like our sister but again I digress. Now that he graduates he said that he doesn’t know what to do if not study. I told him to get a job!
Atta Boy Jedidiah!
P.S. I will also post another part of my story. I know its getting good.
P.P.S. I noticed a few new followers. Thank you so much for listening…errr… reading me ramble. It’s wonderful to know that someone might find enjoyment from the words that I’m inspired to write.
